​Una Storia Antica e sempre nuova di Nobiltà onore, e....... fantasmi.

Due Famiglie che si intrecciano in questa residenza storica i Nobili Dei e l'antica Famiglia Fiorentina dei Ricci.

Posando lo sguardo al soffitto degli splendidi saloni della residenza, assistiamo ad un tripudio scintillante di arte e storia, raccontata dall'araldica delle antiche casate nobili Senesi che si uniscono con i padroni di casa: la Famiglia Dei.

In origine furono gli Anellati della Dea , nome dedotto dai tre anelli intrecciati dello stemma, di origine Romana, ad arrivare nel 1220 a  Chiusi; in seguito il nome della casata mutò in Dei; Unitisi  alla famiglia Nardi ne acquisiscono l'aquila nera aggiungendola allo stemma. Per gli alti servigi e la fedelta' resi all'impero, Federico I il Barbarossa insignì la famiglia dell'aquila reale trasformando così lo stemma in un' aquila a due teste sovrastata dalla corona Imperiale. 

Sul cornicione destro e sinistro del salone principale troviamo ritratti gli antenati più importanti. Ci soffermiamo sul più illustre, il Prelato Francesco Dei, professore Teologo con cattedra presso l'università di Siena. A lui il Comune di Chiusi deve le sue importanti ricerche storiche sulle origini della città e la donazione di una biblioteca comunale.

Lo stemma si arricchisce ulteriormente della croce dei Cavalieri di Gerusalemme, e sotto il Granducato di Toscana dei Cavalieri di Santo Stefano:  i Templari Toscani.

 

 

 

A noble family tale of heraldry, Honor and ...Ghosts!

Two families who are enjoined in the story of this historical residence, that of the noble Dei family whit the ancient Fiorentine family of the Ricci. A glace at celing of the splendid salon reveals a galaxy of art and history that tell the union of the Noble Sienese lineage with the owners of the villa.The original name of the Dei family was Anelloti, of Deasand refered to the three rings that wer entwined together in their coat of arms. They were of Roman extraction and their name changed to Dei after arrival in Chiusi in 1220. the Dei family  join the Nardi family , and they take the black eagle on the coat of arms. Friederick I Barbarossa conferred them with the Imperial crown above the Royal duble headed eagle to add to their coat of arms in recognition of theyr loyal service.

Potraits of their most important ancesters hang from the cornices in the main salon. the most important being that of plelate Francesco Dei, professor of theology with a seat at the University of Siena who did extensive research on historical origins of Chiusi and donated a library to the Common of Chiusi.

The coat of arms was later enriched with the cross of the Cavaliers of Jerusalem and, under the Granduchy of Toscany, with that of the Cavaliers of Saint Steven: the Tuscan Templars

 

il Fantasma

 

A fine 800' la residenza è abitata dall'avvocato Ascanio Dei, personaggio particolare: è grintoso, rivoluzionario, e liberale; si diletta a scrivere poesie boccaccesche schernendo vizi e virtù della nobiltà Chiusina e dello stesso clero;

poesie ancora oggi conservate dalla famiglia, le quale sono dense di  una goliardia e attualità sorprendente nonostante il tempo. Personaggio importante veniva spesso menzionato nelle cronache dell'epoca tanto da descriverne vizì e virtù... un vizio in particolare... era un amante del fumo di sigaro.

Purtroppo la cronaca del tempo dette pure notizia dello scandalo della banca Cecchini in cui Ascanio Dei sembrava fosse coinvolto, tanto che,  fu trovato morto suicida  in una enorme vasca di marmo bianca nella sua abitazione.

Attualmente quella enorme vasca di marmo si trova nel bel parco della residenza ad accogliere profumate azalee blu. 

 

Nel 1964 l'ultima proprietaria della Residenza la Contessa Elisa Dei vende alla famiglia Ricci, composta dal Canonico Orlando Ricci, il Maestro di Latino e Greco Francesco, l'Imprenditore Ermanno Ricci.

Raffaele Ricci, ultimo erede della Famiglia cresce fin da piccolo con i genitori e gli zii in questa splendida residenza, circondato da teologia, arte e cultura. Gli zii arricchirono gli ambienti di una meravigliosa biblioteca di libri antichi, che è possibile ammirare all'interno dei saloni..... saloni dove solo in certe sere,  inaspettatamente,  si avverte....un dolce profumo di sigaro.

 

La Famiglia Ricci, venuta in possesso della splendida Residenza ha concluso una doviziosa opera di restauro degli affreschi dell'autore Pietro Loli Piccolomini, artista senese di importante levatura, fu autore dei cenci del Palio di Siena di fine 800'. 

Ogni stanza conserva gli arredi originali, dal gusto delicato della Nobiltà vissuta nella Belle Epoque, dove al morbido stile Liberty si andava fondendo la ruggente avanguardia anni venti, la famiglia Ricci ne restaura con premura gli arredi, per offrirvi un'esperienza di elegante autenticità

 

 

The Ghost

 

In the late 1800, the residence was the home of Lawyer Ascanio Dei, who was an unusual character: he was gallant and exuberant, revolutionary and liberal; he found pleasure writing Boccaccesque poetry, mocking vices and virtues of the nobles and members of the clergy of Chiusi.

The poems surprisingly up-to date and high-spirited are still kept by the family. Ascanio Dei was without doubt an important figure of the time, and was often mentioned in the society pages, so much so that even his good and bad qualities have been remembered; one in particular, his love for cigars. Unfortunately, the news of the time reports of the financial scandal of the Cecchini bank, in which Ascanio Dei was presumed to be involved. The scandal eventually lead him to commit suicide in a large marble tub that now is kept in the gardens of the residence, and in which beautiful blue Azaleas have found their shelter.

 

In 1964 the last owner of the Residence, Countess Elisa Dei, sold the property to the Ricci family, composed of Canon Orlando Ricci, Latin and Greek Maestro Francesco, and the entrepreneur Ermanno Ricci. The last heir of the family, Raffaele Ricci, grew up with his parents, aunt and uncle in this splendid residence, surrounded by theology, art and culture.

The Ricci family has enriched the property with a wonderful library that can be admired in the halls... halls that, astonishingly, smell of a sweet cigar flavor in some evenings.

 

When the Ricci family came into possession of this splendid residence they took upon themselves to complete the restoration of the property's frescos painted by Pietro Loli Piccolomini, the world known artist, author of the coats of arms in the very famous Palio of Siena.

Every room preserves its original furniture, that combines the mellow style of Art Nouveau's impeccable and exquisite taste, to avantgarde design of the roaring twenties, entirely restored by the family of the Ricci.
